Two flights per week will take place along this route, making use of recently-purchased Boeing 767-300 freighters. Maersk’s flights between the USA and South Korea will be operated by Amerijet International, a cargo airline based in Miami.

Michel Pozas Lucic, Global Head of Air and Less-than-Container-Load (LCL) shipping at AP Moller – Maersk, said: “With the introduction of this new service between the US and Korea, we have taken the next step in securing logistics solutions for our customers with our own aircrafts.”

The flights in and out of Greenville-Spartanburg Airport in South Carolina will be the first scheduled air cargo operation to connect the state with Asia. Maersk hopes that this will provide more opportunity for increased trade between businesses in Asia and the southeast of the US.
